Your Handicap is for the long term, common reference standard of your game in every round. Most golfers think that playing over or under the handicap in one round is the indicator of how they actually play at that time either negative or positive.
Connecting a round with your handicap will only describe how you posted a score. It’s very possible to play brilliantly, but the score exceeds your handicap. If you do not understand the difference, you will become frustrated – Don’t be. Do the right thing, stay positive, and you’ll get a good score anyway.
Many problems caused by the handicap associated with self image. The lower your handicap is, the better your image as a golfer and the more people who respect you. You are afraid to lose respect if your handicap is back up, so you will try to always play in the Buffer Zone than at present. You prefer to survive rather than attack, even if today you’re in good form. You will lose a lot of great opportunities to play positively and win because you are too afraid to lose.
