Lovina Beach is located around 9 Km west of Singaraja city. Lovina is one of the attractions in North Bali. Many foreign and local tourists visit there. In addition to seeing the pristine beaches, also to see the many dolphins found on this beach. By renting a local fishing boat, tourists can approach dolphins. Various inns ranging from Inn to Cottages are available at very affordable prices. Besides having a beautiful view of the beach Lovina also has a very interesting history.

Regarding the history of Lovina, of course you cannot escape the figure of Anak Agung Panji Tisna. Around the 1950s, Anak Agung Panji Tisna, had traveled to several countries in Europe and Asia. What caught his attention was mainly people’s lives in India. He lived a few weeks in Bombay (now Mumbai). The way of life and conditions of the people there, immediately influenced his way of thinking and insight in the future for Bali, especially the development of community welfare in Buleleng Regency.

Meanwhile, Panji Tisna also saw a place that was beautifully arranged for people to take a vacation on the beach. The land has similarities with its land on the coast of Tukad Cebol, Buleleng, North Bali, which is also located between two rivers. Panji Tisna’s inspiration appeared to build such a retreat back from abroad in 1953, Anak Agung Panji Tisna immediately expressed his inspiration and began to build on his land, a cottage called “LOVINA”. The place is meant for “travelers”, the term is now “tourist”, for a vacation. Equipped with 3 bedrooms to stay and a small restaurant near the seafront. At that time, some business observers worried that the Panji Tisna plan would not succeed as expected. It was too early to make a similar business on a secluded beach like the beach in Tukad Cebol. Local cultural observers say, “Lovina” is a foreign word, not Balinese. Furthermore, there is no letter “v”.

Tisna, in 1959, She’s selling the Lovina Lodge to her younger relatives, Anak Agung Ngurah Sentanu, 22, as owner and manager. This business is going pretty well. However, there are no backpacker or tourists. There are Panji Tisna’s friends from America and Europe, as well as local government officials and businessmen on vacation. Feeling lucky too, because on special days such as Sundays and holidays, also on holidays such as Galungan and Kuningan, many people including students who come to enjoy the natural atmosphere of the beach.
